Easy Skillet Cinnamon Apples

Total Time30 mins
Course: Dessert
Keyword: Apple Pie Spice, apples, fruit

Ingredients

  • ¼ Cup Butter melted
  • 4 Granny Smith Apples peeled & cut into 8 wedges
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Apple Pie Spice
  • 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Water

Instructions

  • Melt Butter
  • Saute Apples until they begin to get translucent around the edges and soften a bit. Do not overcook at this point or you'll end up with very mushy results!
  • Add the brown sugar, apple pie spice, apple cider vinegar, and water. Continue to saute until the sauce forms and coats the apples.

Notes

The whole cooking process should take between 15 to 30 minutes depending on how high your heat is. If you don't go long enough you'll have a watery sauce that won't stick to your apples. If you go too long you'll start to burn the sugars and make a caramel of sorts. You want to hit right in the middle just as the apples begin to get coated by the sauce. Keep in mind as the mixture cools it will thicken a bit too. Great for a quick dessert on its own or even better on top of vanilla ice cream.
